BEFORE YOUR FIRST GAME
How to play Dominó
Players and pieces
Dominoes is a game for four players, each playing for themselves.
There are 28 tiles, with each half bearing dots representing values from 0 to 6.
Getting started
Play proceeds clockwise. Each player receives 7 tiles.
Playing the game
The player holding the double-six tile (6:6) starts.
Each player then places one tile at an end, matching its dots to those at the chosen end.
A player with no matching tile passes their turn.
The game ends when a player runs out of tiles and wins, or when no further moves are possible. In the latter case, the winner is the player with the lowest total of dots on their remaining tiles.
Scoring
The winner or winners (if two or more players share the lowest hand total at the end) receive the points on their opponents’ unplayed tiles. The losing players have ranking marks deducted in the same proportion.
Example:
| Winner’s hand points | Opponents’ hand points | Ranking marks awarded |
| 0 | 8 | +8 |
| 2 | 7 | +5 |
| 3 | 0 | 0 |
